As part of our commitment, we offer a unique opportunity for a Circular Economy Engineering Modern Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This role combines elements of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic engineering, providing comprehensive training and hands-on experience in various disciplines. 

As an Engineering Modern Apprentice, you will work closely with our experienced team, throughout a 4 year apprenticeship, to gain practical knowledge and skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic engineering. You will have the chance to contribute to the development and refurbishment of a wide range of subsea components and systems, aimed at optimising resource recovery and minimising environmental impact. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and apply engineering principles in a real-world setting while actively participating in the circular economy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the assembly, installation, and maintenance of subsea mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and equipment.

  • Conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.

  • Collaborating with engineering team to design and implement improvements to existing components and systems.

  • Participating in the testing and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks, and replacement of components.

  • Assisting in the identification and resolution of technical issues, proposing solutions and improvements.

  • Adhering to health and safety protocols and promoting a safe working environment.

  • Keeping accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment documentation.

  • Actively participating in training programs and workshops to enhance technical knowledge and skills.

  • Supporting other departments as needed, including operations, logistics, and quality assurance.

Experience:

  • No formal experience required as all training will be provided

Skills and Abilities:

  • Educational Background: Minimum of Nat 5 (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Physics, and English, with strong grades.

  • Passion for Engineering: Demonstrated interest in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic engineering, with a desire to learn and develop skills in a hands-on environment.

  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with the capacity to identify and resolve technical issues.

  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.

  • Attention to Detail: Diligent approach to work, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks performed.

  • Safety Consciousness: Understanding and commitment to following health and safety regulations and procedures.

  • Initiative and Reliability: Self-motivated and dependable, with a proactive attitude towards learning and professional development.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work outside normal business hours when necessary, including weekends or evenings, for maintenance or project-related activities.

Legasea Ltd is a fast growing, award-winning, energy service company, founded in 2018, with a focus on the Circular Economy for subsea production systems and controls.
We carry out a range of Electrical, Hydraulic and Mechanical Engineering services, and work to combat obsolescence management issues for subsea equipment. We promote sustainability and reuse, and our ethos is one of a Circular Economy, taking one company’s waste and restoring it to be of value elsewhere.
