Updated: May 16, 2022

We are delighted to confirm that Legasea will be sponsoring the Chapelton Scarecrow Festival for the second year running!

The festival will be returning this year, with some adjustments made, to account for public safety and social distancing, and the theme for 2020 will be movies / cinema!

The chosen beneficiaries for this year's festival are Newtonhill out of School Club, the Chapelton Defibrillator Project and Cairnhill Community Allotments. There will be prizes, for the best scarecrows, and Legasea are providing gift vouchers, to will help to support local small businesses.

In 2019, competition was hotly contested, with some excellent scarecrows on display, including the ultimate winner, Carl Fredricksen, from the movie Up. It was Chapelton’s first ever Scarecrow Festival, organised by Cairnhill Community Allotment Association, and it was a huge success, raising over £1,000 for the allotments, and Alzheimer’s Scotland.

We look forward to seeing the inventive creations throughout August!
