Job Role: Service Technician

 

Location: Echt, Aberdeenshire
 

Reports to: Workshop Manager
 

Job Description:

 

Following Legasea work instructions, conducts to exceptional standards, disassembly; diagnostic and testing work; repair and assembly/ reassembly of subsea production equipment.  The successful candidate will be skilled in at least one of the three main areas of Electrical; Hydraulic and Mechanical work and will be provided with training to become multiskilled in each area whilst working at Legasea.  Flexibility in the job role is essential, along with good attention to detail and an ability to work safely and efficiently to deliver quality products and  services which exceed all of our client requirements.  The ideal candidate will have completed an apprenticeship or have experience in a busy workshop and have a good knowledge of working with subsea hardware. Offshore experience is not a pre-requisite of the role but offshore, offsite, and overseas working may part of the job. Since Legasea is a sustainable organisation, a passion about the environment, the Circular Economy and reducing waste is essential. 
 
Responsibilities:    

 

Some of the main duties will include:


•    Test and assembly operations.
•    Refurbishment and repair and new build of subsea assemblies. 
•    Electric Diagnostics
•    Electrical Connector Terminations
•    Hyperbaric testing
•    Hydrostatic Testing & Flushing 
•    Hydraulic Torquing 
•    Waste Management


Knowledge & Skills:    

 

•    Service Technician experience required
•    Previous experience as a service technician in the Oil & Gas Industry desirable
•    Previous Offshore experience desirable
•    Knowledge of subsea equipment
•    Operation monitoring
•    Critical thinking
•    Complex problem solving
•    Analytical skills
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word
•    Recognised Trade Apprenticeship and/or NVQ/SVQ Level 3 certification or equivalent and/or OPITO / ECITB Technician Training Scheme desirable but not required
•    Ability to interpret Industry Standards and practices
•    Basic & role specific HSE knowledge
